Dems: Thank an Indie!
We've survived one more election and like the majority of my fellow Independents I voted mostly Blue. And as usual our vote was decisive.
Just look at the map of the Senate races alone.
Montana: Tester(D) defeated incumbant Burns(R) by less than three thousand votes. Indies were 29% of the vote and a decisive 59% voted for Tester.
Ohio: Brown(D) defeated incumbant DeWine pretty handily, 56% to 44%. Indies made up 23% of the vote and a huge 65% voted for Brown.
Virginia: Webb(D) appears to have unseated the incumbant Allen(R) by the narrowest of margins - just under 7000 votes out roughly 2.4 million votes cast. Indies made up 26% and went for Webb by a comfortable 56%.
Missouri: McCaskill(D) narrowly unseated Talent(R) 49% to 48%. Indies made up 25% of the vote and went for McCaskill over Talent by 51% to 43%.
And on it goes. To top it all off we've got two Senators elected as Indies for the (apparently) first time ever in our nation's history. Bernie Sanders successfully made the jump from the House to the Senate to win Jim Jeffords'(I) vacant seat. And Joe Lieberman handily won re-election as an Independent after getting trounced in the Dem primary. Both won with overwhelming support among Independents.

I'm an Indie (Libertarian) who voted blue (and has been for quite a few elections).
Kevin - yes we did! Independents are becoming a force for change in America. Congratulations!
