The problem with partisan shills is...

... that they are partisan shills.

Kevin Drum covers the GOP-controlled House of Representative's vote to not spend more than a minute fraction of what a war with the potentially "nukular" Iran would cost by installing comparitively cheap equipment in American ports that could detect radiation. Republicans voted down the domestic port security initiative 210 to 207 with 12 brave Republicans voting with the minority.

Kevin sums the day's events up succinctly:
NOTE TO REPORTERS: The next time a Republican politician tells you that a nuclear Iran is intolerable, the first question you should ask is whether said politician supports funding for serious port security. If the answer is anything other than a firm and passionate "yes, dear God, yes," you should end the interview and walk away. You are talking to a partisan shill, not someone genuinely concerned about national security.
