Irony

So, we have the new report out by the UN regarding Guantanamo. The main thrust of the Bush Adminstration's minimizing of this report is that the UN never went to Guantanamo.

Okay, let's sit back and think about this for a minute.

I remember a news piece regarding the UN refusal to going to Gitmo. The reason they gave is because the Administration refused to allow the inspectors to interview the prisoners privately.

So, what's the irony?

Think back to the days leading up to the Iraq war. The Government insisted on full access of all areas of Iraq for the WMD inspectors and rejected any control by Saddam of what the inspectors could see. Why? Because it was believed that by Iraq controlling the access, the inspectors wouldn't get the full story.

If eeverything is truely on the up and up....wouldn't you throw open the doors for everyone to see what is going on?

The Bush Adminstration is hiding something.
