Weird and wacky search terms bring back fond memories
One of the most fun things about having a site hit counter is that I get to see what kind of search terms resulted in a visit. Because it gets a lot more traffic I usually find the most interesting and odd ones over at Preemptive Karma But, I occasionally see some really good ones here.
Just a bit ago I was looking thru the hit counter and found a visit from an MSN search for cake with mayonaise.
At first I didn't get it. But, loving to cook as I do, I was more curious about whether and why someone would put mayo in a cake. I'd never heard of it. Apparently it moistens the cake. Sounds tasty!
Anyway, I eventually scrolled down to see where Indie Castle showed up on the search results. It was to a post from early January where I'd blogged about taking my daughters to see the comedian and archaic "food processor" inventer Gallagher. Among the items smashed that night were "cake" and copious quantities of "mayonaise". In fact I didn't raise my clear plastic sheet quite fast enough once and ended up with an earful of mayonaise, which is the Indie Castle link I found on the search results page.
That night was a LOT of fun. If you've never seen Gallagher, DO IT. He's an absolute riot and peppers his routine quite liberally with socio-political commentary. And like all good comedians he takes shots at everyone. So, don't go if you're thin-skinned.
