Spotlight Iraq
This is taken from my site, the Office of the Independent Blogger. Before we get to the meat of this coconut, I stumbled across an interesting story: A Modest Alternative To The Draft. Know what it is? Have the President and his lackeys call the nation to service. Everytime they speak, they ought to encourage people to sign up and join the battle. As the author points out this is something that the President never does.
President Bush is set to address the nation tonight on the subject of Iraq. Now, you remember Senator John Kerry, the man who lost the Presidential election to Bush? You know, he had three purple hearts? Well, he's back in the pages of the New York Times showing just why he lost the election to Bush. His op-ed is entitled the speech the President should give. Nevermind that his piece is not a speech it is a policy proposal. Really, if the Senator is running for President again he needs more competent media advisors. That aside, it's actually a pretty solid plan for leaving Iraq.
This Joe Biden speech on Iraq isn't bad, either. I wonder just what the President will say? I hope he outlines a new policy, with new strategy, but I'm half-expecting more "stay the course, last throes, all critics are defeatists" nonsense.
