An Indie's Mea Culpa... sorta
It is stuff like this which explains why I, a moderate, have thrown my lot in with the Left without reservation. It's the only avenue I can see for reigning in the radical Right currently in power.
They use the words of moderates. But, their actions put the lie to their empty, lying words.
I'm no more interested in seeing my country mismanaged by the radical Left than I am the radical Right. And if there comes a day when I judge that the radical Left is in power and abusing that power, I will throw my lot in with whomever I need to in order to reign them in. But for now that's a hypothetical future which hopefully will never come to pass. So, I'll focus my energy on what I personally deem a clear and present threat to the future of the Republic - the Bush administration.
That said... I'm signing Indie Castle up with the Raging RINO's. Which just goes to show that I'll work with any interested party to restore some sanity to this country.
Little known secret: I used to be a conservative Republican, registered as such and the whole nine yards as they say. And yes, that included being a Dittohead back when Rush was just getting big... figuratively... sorta. Iran/Contra put an end to that, though... Most likely it's permanent, too. I like being an Indie. With my social libertarian streak it's not all that hard to find common cause with elements of both sides of the great Left/Right divide. So I see no reason to join any party. I vote. I participate. I donate to causes and the very rare candidate that I deem worthy. I call my representatives. There's nothing that a political party can give me which I need.
