Investigating the King County Elections Office

Carla over at Preemptive Karma has done some sleuthing on the brewing conspiracy theory being pushed by soundpolitics which seems aimed at bolstering Republican Dino Rossi's claims of fraud in the Washington State Gubernatorial election.

Today Dino Rossi is supposed to be filing a formal legal challenge to the recent election which he lost. King County Elections Office's mailing out of military ballots is sure to play a prominent role in his legal challenge. Which makes investigating the soundpolitics story relevant and timely.

Specifically, soundpolitics is charging that the KCEO failed to mail military ballots out on the date that was negotiated with them by the federal government (October 8,2004). Further, they are alledging that KCEO deliberately changed the dates on their website fact sheet from October 10 to October 7, in a nefarious bid to cover up their wrongdoing

Truth or Consequences is Carla's initial foray into the actual facts surrounding the King County Elections Office's mailing out of military ballots.

Has soundpolitics created a controversy out of thin air? Did they credibly source their story before running it? Did the King County Elections Office defraud military voters? Carla has some answers and is working on getting the rest.
