Who are the 9-11 families speaking out?

Living here in NYC, we get to hear the statements of the 9-11 families all the time.

There seems to be an organization to represent every view point of these families. One thing should be realized though. They do not represent every person who lost a loved one. They are a fraction of the families.

In NYC, we have become accustomed to hearing someone whine about this or that or another. Further, there is also another group arguing the opposite.

While I am sure we have all seen the self appointed spokeswoman of 9-11 families arguing for the intellegence reform bill,
there are other 9-11 groups that argue differently.

What it comes down to is this. Our Intellegence Community should not be reformed because someone is crying about how they could not face going back to NYC without the bill being passed. This is nothing but pulling on the heartstrings that could lead to a monstrosity of a reform bill.

I ask this question of everyone. "Why not wait until Congress returns, instead of ramming a bill through now?"

I agree that immigration reform is one of the most critical elements of this bill. It bothers me to no end as well that the media will allow emotion to play into decisions on politics--while I believe some of the 9/11 comm. recommendations are essential, Kean/Hamilton and the pro-bill families seem to act as if every detail of the 9/11 report's recommendations be in or our nation will face critical peril. I commend people like the group mentioned in the piece who have the courage (yes courage) to oppose parts of the bill in the face of the overwhelming emotion of 9/11.
