Billionaires For Bush are still in business.

I got a pretty good chuckle out of this piece in the New York Times today.

Love them or hate them, they protest with style.

A couple of favorite quotes.

They are satirists, as you have probably figured out by now, and hoped for President Bush's defeat. In case you were out of town, the election did not go their way. "Never had an entity wanted its brand to go out of existence as badly as we did," said Andrew Boyd, who also goes by a Billionaires name, Phil T. Rich.

Then again, these are the happiest days for this bunch. They have so much to look forward to. "It would have been more worrisome if Kerry had won," said Chris Ditto, a k a Ivan Aston Martin. "It's going to be easy pickings for the next four years."

NOT that everyone gets it. Even New Yorkers familiar with the Billionaires' street theater often pause for a split second, wondering if it is for real.

Liberals, when asked for money to help keep the group going, have been known to protest, "But you're billionaires." Conservatives can be just as clueless. Mr. Boyd recalled an e-mail message from a man who angrily wrote: "You are not helping the president get re-elected. Shut up. You're making the Republican Party look like a bunch of elitists
