Another Stolen election?

Conspiracies abound on the internet that the GOP stole Ohio and Florida. Two statistics given to prove it are shown to be false by the Washington Post.

1. Numerous bloggers have noted that President Bush's vote totals in 47 Florida counties were larger -- in some cases much larger -- than the number of registered Republican voters in the same counties.

This is essentially correct. However, bloggers don't take into account the independants or Dixiecrats. Also, the counties listed are mainly from the north. Which naturally have more conservative voters.

2. The Ohio vote-fraud theory appears to stem from the curious ways of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. During even-numbered years the county's canvassing board posts vote totals that include the results from outside the county from congressional districts that spill over Cuyahoga's borders. The quirk made it look as if the county had 90,000 more votes than voters.

The disparities were spotted, and urgent mass mailings began: "Ohio precincts report up to 1,586% turnout . . . 30 Precincts in Ohio's Cuyahoga County report 'over' 100% turnout!" Later, the county added a disclaimer to its Web site in an attempt to explain the numbers.

It would really be nice if the Democrats would look into an issue fully before throwing out accusations.

And I can't help but wonder if this will soon become part of the mythology of the left.

I expected nothing less from the party of the two coasts.

I haven't heard any democrat claim the election was stolen. I think you are just doing some wishful thinking.

My view: We should investigate to make sure that all the votes were counted and that fraudulant votes are thrown out.

I fail to see why we shouldn't do this.

Geez here is a whole list of internet sites that scream the election was stolen:

Heck man spend 5 minutes looking it up instead of 5 secs demeaning the original writer.

Oh, you want someone else to do your work FOR you,...typical democrat....

So let me get this straight. You claim that the "Democrats" claimed the election was stolen and to prove this you show websites made by citizens?

Ok buddy. When I say Democrats I mean politicians, not voters. I figured this would be understood but I should have known better considering you are a bush voter. The fact that 70% think Iraq had something to do with 9/11 is a pretty good indicator of your intelligence.

The best you have is Kucinich's "insinuations". However, that isn't a claim.

Are you really this delusional, or are you just joking around with your ridiculous posts?

Sadly, I have a feeling it is the former.

I'm pretty sure the bloggers making this claim are members of the Democratic Party. Maybe not part of the "Official" apparatus.

However, many of the myths of this election started out as rumors on the internet. Which was more or less the point of the post.

My last post wasn't in reference to your comments Don, only to Raugh.

Man, just look up the 6 democratic lawmakers who are calling for an investigation in to the election.

Dems, bloggers, demo-citizens...

Investigating the election and claiming it was stolen are two very different things.

Why exactly shouldn't the election be investigated? There have been numerous reports of voting irregularities.

I see no reason why these shouldn't be investigated, but perhaps you do raugh.
